Founded by James D. Namnoum, MD in early 2011, Pink Ribbon Story Foundation employs some of the world’s most notable professionals in the areas of breast reconstruction, film production and editing. The result is a foundation that has quickly gained a reputation as a leader in promoting health, wellness and recovery- relating specifically to breast cancer.
As a graduate and resident of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Dr. James Namnoum completed his training in general and plastic surgery and completed a Fellowship in breast surgery with Carl Hartrampf, MD, a pioneer in the advancement of breast reconstructive surgery and technique.
Dr. Namnoum has built a national reputation as a leader and innovator in the advancement of breast reconstructive techniques, and is committed to serving the community of women affected by breast cancer. Dr. Namnoum has always recognized the need for breast cancer patients to connect with and learn from other women who have already navigated a breast cancer diagnosis. “Women who've been through breast cancer, surgery and reconstruction are uniquely able to relieve a patient’s fear. They can help a newly diagnosed patient more in ten minutes, than I am able to help in an hour.” It is this personal commitment to caring for his patients physically and emotionally that inspired him to create Pink Ribbon Story Foundation, a network of women empowering women, creating a connected community through film, social media and the web.
